Motorsport Under Gaurds
To you guys who have lowered your cars with 17 + wheels. you'l prolly know that theres always allot of wheel/tyre scrapage against those plastic gaurds.
Is there any alternative like getting a metal(sheet) gaurd fabricated to allow for more room inside the wheel arch. Kinda like the V8 supercar wheel arch's, theyre all made of aluminium or something. Plus we could always spray it with a road protection material/fluid so it doesnt rust...
anyone thought of this?

sitting on 190kmph.... (yeah yeah i know) the repaired guards snapped and were rubbing on the tyres... so im a bit worried that if i construct something metal it could cut, or worse, blow a tyre... and with all the highway driving i do, blowing a tyre at 100k isnt a good image i want in my head... so i have no idea how to bodge the bloody thing on

I'm thinking of getting an alloy sheet, cut it to the appropriate size and bend it, then possibly drill holes in what remains of my plastic guards, and use pop rivets to secure it... that atleast could help a little bit where the tyres scrapes..
ideas?
ideas?

guys, i replaced my front underlinings just before i sold the FTO.
and its fairly easy, but its a pain in the ass doing (well doing properly)
I can only imagine how dificult it would be to fit metal!
Just replace them with the plasticy type, and either get a smaller tyre or raise the car.

My pic was too big.

Well i'm due for a set of these as well, been playing with different size of wheels & tyres. So maybe we can have a 2nd GroupBuy, Grant can you remember any info from the first one?

Thats the ones...
Did we ever do a buy on these before? If so from where? I can approach them for bulk discount I spose. I've gone off the idea of steel ones. I think that whole section under there & the connections to the bumper are meant to have flex. I'd hate to have a low kms impact with something & have a tyre slashed.
