I measured my swaybars front and rear...
Both front and rear were 18mm
Front one is a standard lancer swaybar, and rear one is a standard FTO swaybar.
Searching through the net, I found that the FTO's have standard 16mm front swaybar. Which I thought was odd for a lancer to have a thicker one?
Anyway, I am thinking of upgrading to 20-22mm front and 22-24mm rear. What do people think of this setup?
The car is obviously a lot more noseheavy now (lancer with V6)

The stock FTO fronts are actually 15mm - the readily available upgrade for the FTO is to 18mm - the front of an FTO (designed as sports car) has a much lower centre of gravity than the lancer (the motor is seated much lower) - hence less requirement for a larger stock swaybar. Especially now that you have a V6 in there, I'd highly recommend uprating your swaybars. I went from 15mm to 18mm front & 18mm to 22mm rear & am not looking back. What model is your Lancer? I'd get on the Whiteline website & check out whats available for it (I image there would be heaps)
Just keep in mind if you go too big - you can get 'tripod' syndrome...
When you turn into a steep driveway or street, you may end up lifting the unweighted wheel off the ground... It has happened to me twice now

My car does that tripod thing now anyway! I can feel it rocking a bit when it happens and I've seen it happen a few times when a friend drives it.
I am not sure if whiteline makes front swaybars for my lancer (it's a 2001 CE coupe by the way).
I'll give them a call tomorrow and hopefully it's good news
