resonator/muffler

Post by efteoh »

i thought i knew the difference, but after browsing on ebay. im confused.

i thought the muffler was the final bit at the end of the exhaust, and a resonator was something along the pipe to reduce the noise. (acts knida like a muffler except its along the pipe, not at the end of it

You are correct.

I guess the point is that technically a resonator is a type of muffler. But the 'muffler' is usually the large baffle at the end of the exhaust.
