Hard to find parts

Post by FT-TRO2 »

Hey guys!

I'm after a left outer CV Boot and a Rear engine Mount for my 95 GPX..

I tried places like Repco and Autopro who are apparently "parts specialists"...and they couldnt help me out...

Anyone got any Ideas where I can get these parts...Im in Sydney by the way...

Thanks everyone

Repco and Autopro will not cater for imports... they have more parts catered for mainstream cares like your everyday Commodores / Falcons / Camrys / Magnas...

Your best bet would be import engine wreckers.

Thanks for help guys!

I contacted just japs at kirrawee and they have second hand rear engine mounts for $95.

North Shore Mitsubishi sells brand new ones for $120...

A bit of a rip aye!...

Has anyone purchased universal CV boots from repco or autopro for their FTO?

Ring just jap back and tell em that and that you only gonna pay 50 for a second hand one, otherwise tell em to get stuffed. Dont hesitate to mention that you know a lot of FTO owners also, they dont want bad publicity.
also does mitsi sell the boot also????

Umm, parts. Most 'common items' such as boots can be sourced from all sorts of locally distributed bits-a-missings. Example i needed a steering rack boot - no bugger could help me. So i decided t orip it off drive to nearest crash repairers and said got one of these. They said yup and replaced it. It was from a late model magna. a lot of pieces like that arent one off's. Alsthough we own imports, these cars are like any other car - parts arent specifically made for them. a lot come from magna's and galants. Show someone the part - you have better chance by doing that than saying i have an fto - got "x" part. They hear "FTO" and immediately beleive they have nothing.
