EOI Whiteline Swaybars

Post by Bennoz »

Hey guys, as you probably read, I've done a heap of suspension work lately. I got a call from one of my suppliers asking if I knew anyone else that might want swaybars? So.... I thought I might see if there's enough interest out there for a group buy. As per the title, they are Whiteline Swaybars - 18mm fronts & 22mm rears. With the front ones being adjustable. The front ones fit both GPX & GR, whereas the back ones for GPX are slightly different to the GR (both are the same price thou.) For fast road / race applications these are a must. My car sits so much more solidly around corners & when changing directions, the car doesnt slop from side to side as it used to.

I can get a package deal, 2 bars (front and rear) for either GPX or GR, including new bushes to suit for approx $400 + postage.

All if I can move 10 of each.

Ben,
Couple of questions; (refer to picture below)
Whileline indicates that front swaybar is 18mm adjustable. Is this correct or there is another 22mm one that I couldn’t find on their webstore.
Whileline also indicates that rear swaybar is 22mm adjustable. Is this correct? I thought you said rear ones is not adjustable.

Also, what is the size of the stock swaybar?
Finally, whats that white jelly stuff that I see between bushes and sway bar.

Pricing sounds good, as these bars are adverstised for $240 each on Whiteline webstore, also bushes are around $25 for front and rear.

Ben,

I just did that 28pt suspension check at Pedders, just to check out my suspensions and stuff - safety

Everythings fine, except my link rods. Looking on that report sheet they gave me, are the link rods the same as sway bars?

Looking at your pic, looks rly similar to what they showed me.

They told me they can change all four of my link rods (sway bars?) for $341 installed.

$220 for parts
$110 installation 8O

I doubt they are adjustable etc, and I dunno much about them or what they do. And im not too keen to just putting any parts from pedders on my car (FTO compatible?)

All I know is i need to change em.

OK,

Max - quite correct. My apologies fronts are 18mm. (I'll edit original post)
The rear ones for the GPX are adjustable (ie have multiple holes in which to locate the droplink) The GR ones are not adjustable because the rear droplinks on a GR are adjustable. So on a GPX use the adjustable bar, on a GR, do the same adjustment with the droplink.

Part numbers:
BMF44Z GPX & GR front
BMR64Z GPX rear
BMR74X GR rear

rnbboi - link rods sounds like drop links...
$220 is a good price for all four, but $110 to install 8O They are only held on by two nuts each... albeit some can be rusty & a bastard to get off.

Link rods are drop links, and are not sway bars
Get your links from Camskill. They are on special at the moment. $180 front and rear together.

And here is how you install them for free.

Thats ok mate, only way to find out is by asking!

Max, stock sway bars are 15mm (front) and 16mm (rear)
Weird size for the front :? but hey, the verniers dont lie.

That white stuff is lube. Comes with all suspension bushes - its half the reason bushes wear out so bad. They run dry & get gouged to peices.
Its not extra $$$ - comes with.

Would be interested, but can we just do one group buy at a time peoples!!! Virtually nothing for so long (other than the seat covers) and now all this!

At least wait until the extractors are finished

Very interested, but I am not sure that the....um....committee will approve both purchases.

I'll be in this group hug - sorry - group buy. ;)

Hard to believe I could get any more cornering grip than I already have, but you never know. My mechanic reckons there "might" be some advantage in fitting them, but warned there would likely be a lot of trial and error involved in getting them set up just right for my car. I don't mind lining myself up for extra track time! Sounds like fun, hehe.

Euro,
you need to order them separately;
front drop links (GBP34) + rear drop links (GBP25) = GBP59 * 2.4 = AUS$140 + postage

If you are from Melbourne I wanna order as well, so we can save from postage
