guys.. i just changed my standard spring with pedders lowering spring, and many people say that different spring rate will eventually blow my shock absorber . Is that true?
If it is true, i might get a pair of pedders rear suspension. They quote it for $300 including installation. Is it the correct price?
it also depends if the dampers or shocks are matched to the stiffness rates of the springs because i believe they have tolerances set for max/min rates... if the springs are far too stiff, it may prematurely wear out the shocks...
From my past experience ( a few years back ) Pedders suggested to me their springs came from Kings Springs. I brought King Springs from the Melb distributor and saved probably $40 a pair and gave them to pedders to put on when they did my shocks.
For the record, the car wasnt a FTO and the height was STD but +20% rate increase.
I wouldnt say the sagging of King Springs is quick. My car (non FTO) has had them for about 4 years and is only now starting to soften a little, mind you they probably only have done 30K. I would say the shocks have died off quicker...didnt really want pedders bit they seem to do a good job.
