No it wouldnt work for the ordinary person because your name is on the registration papers, not a company name, therefore you as the registered owner are responsible for any traffic infringements issued against that vehicle. Your licence will be awarded the demerit points even if someone else was driving if you do not sign the stat dec saying they were in charge of the vehicle at the time. AND if you dont pay the fine they will cancel the rego on the vehicle and your licence to boot!!

This is old - was released by the PCA in August. Technically incorrect, as the RTA can fine companies for not releasing info on the driver. Penalties for withholding info can go so far up to gaol I believe.
