whats the go with apexi safc's
k i know what a turbo timer does. but how does an safc really help tune the engine, is it a worthwhile addition or does it pretty much just look good. i would like an after market comp but my purposes are mainly street driving and cruisin so not willin to pay heaps. whats a cheap good one to put on to get some good low down torque as thats the only think that bugs me with an fto.

What's a turbo timer got to do with the price of fish?
AFC's simply allow you to change the air/fuel mix. Basically you can lean out or richen up the mixture which can result in more power or more protection for the engine. You really need to dyno tune these things to get maximum result and it would be advisable to have your exhaust and CAI done to get maximum benefit.
The SAFC II should give you around 6-8kW with the right mods and tunning

I've got a wide band lambda and display with a vafc2 and it's great being able to tune set up your fuelling accurately whenever you want, but the best bit about the vafc 2 is it's got a light that changes from green to red when you hit mivec
I found mine was running quite rich actually before the vafc and that's with headers/extractors,pod filter, cai, bored t/b etc etc
