At the moment i'm using G3, it handles & grip pretty good on dry, cornering not too bad, i expect a bit better but it do the job
In a couple months later i'll put some new shoes in my car *finally* 17", i'm happy to stick with G3 because they last pretty long & on dry it's enough for me, but as for wet? It couldn't grip when i step "little" too hard to take off, only done like 12k on it too
I know Eagle F1 is good in wet and ok in dry too so just to think ahead a bit, what do you guys think is the best tyre?
I had GIIIs on the front and some old 2nd hand G1's on the back. They were pretty good, but the GIIIs are bloody expensive here. It cost me $200 for a new one, and that was at cost! Full price would have been $350+

I've had Pirelli P500's on mine since i've had her, and just recently changed to Bridgestones G3.
Huge difference - Ride is SO much smoother and quieter! These seem to hug the road better too, even in the wet.
so you mean G3 is better or Pirelli is better?
I like G3 at dry but still can't explain why in wet wouldn't grip normally
Sorry - blame typing a quick message before rushing out the door!
The G3's are much better than the Pirelli's I had - which were noisey and made a very rough ride... but coz they were the only one's i'd ever had, I didn't know any better!
Not had any toruble in the wet with them so far. Drove 300km the other day in torrential rain, and was happy with them.
If you can't dazzle them with dexterity, baffle them with bull...
I run the Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my FTO- and love them
Robert (kaveman) doesnt really like them
.... and on his car, with his set up, they don;t seem to run as well as they do on mine.....
He runs the Yokohama's on his FTO- and loves them
but I dont think they handle that great on mine....
I think it all comes down to personal choice, driving style, car setup in the end....
If you want something that will corner much better then the G3's then go for The Toyo Proxes T1R's they are also the best wet handling tyre there is...
I have had them for 5 months now and they are still very nice.
If you want something extreme for the dry then get the Falken Azenis RT215's (semi-slick) The car will corner like on rails, but in the wet you might have to take it easy. (This is what i have on my front atm)
If you wait till december the new version rt615 of the Falken will come out, and they will be much better then the rt215 for the same price.
Apart from that i haven't had much more experience with other brands, as i tend to go for the more expensive..

I've had the previous Toyo tyre version (T1-S) on the FTO since January 2003. The tread depth remaining is around 2mm, and the compound is still good and grippy in dry or wet, cold or warm. Very impressed.
I did a couple of motorkhana training days on that set in mid-2003, but since then they have just been exposed to my public road "granny-style" driving. I don't know how well they would cope with hard use, but they certainly have good lifespan if looked after.
I'll probably go T1-R when these reach minimum legal tread depth. Toyo do make a good road tyre. Pretty pricey, though!
