UAS CAI kit

Post by barfy »

I just had my CAI kit boxed and wanted them to put in a snorkle from the front of the car going into the pod.... He told me that the car already has this setup.

What have you guys got on your car to feed more air into the pod ??

the car does... but its not very efficient?

Good question though... Could you put a small hole into the box and then feed piping into that hole (seal it in) and then run the pipe to the front bumper?

Yep the car certainly does has it's own snorkel, but it pulls in air from the wheel arch, if I recall correctly. What you want to do is head down to Autobarn and buy a metre of CAI tubing (any large diametre flexible corrigated hose would do though). You want to run this stuff from the front bumper (but do not block the radiator excessively, or have the opening in a position to pick up rain water/lots of dust) to the airbox, you'll prob need to cut a new hole and then seal it up. Use zipties/cable ties to secure the piping to stuff :)

It actually pulls air from right above that little platic sheet above the radiator. Not very efficient and not a RAM air setup. I removed the firs section and modified it and ran it to the front bumper corner right behind the mesh. Works great now :D

He's right, the stock air inlet is just below the radiator mounts. If you take off your front bumper and remove that junk and run a decent pipe to the front bar you'll be set.

Go into the DIY section and read Boris' CAI thread.

I've yet to do it cos I cbf taking my front bar off. :P
