Tail Light Repairer?

Post by HiRAEdd »

Hi,
Can anyone recommend or even suggest someone in Australia that can reseal tail lights? I'm talking about the seal between the housing and the lens.
Currently, my only option is to send them back to Japan which is costly but worse than that is the hassle Customs is putting me through.
So far I've tried two plastics repair mobs in Brisbane. One said they couldn't do it, the other was very iffy but wanted to have a look at them to check. Didn't fill me with confidence.
So does anyone have any ideas for a company _anywhere_ in Australia?

Some silicon seal and you'd be set to do it yourself.

I believe you need to reseal the headlights if you're doing the polishing DIY, most people just use a silicon sealant and it keeps the water out.

No good I'm afraid. These are Altezza's. The seal on them was crap to begin with, all patchy and ugly looking. Now water is leaking in and taking dirt with it. I can't just reseal them myself because I can't control the flow of silicon on the inside edge so I'll get an evey messier finish. It's like they need some sort of preformed adhesive rather than a squirt and press job.
