JIC Coilovers SF1
for the last couple of months i have been looking for a good replacement for my teins(worn). My first preference was to get the same set but brand new, but have been told that they do not make them anymore. i didnt want to rebuild my existing coilovers.
i didnt consider the d2's as they had higher spring rates which meant that it would ride quite harshly on aussie roads.
but anyways, chose JIC SF1's which are height adjustable but not damper adjustable.
Review: Realy good, has the same spring rates as the teins, and ride similarly to them but they are gas absorbers compared to the teins oils. They make a Shhss sound over bumps like newer cars do. My ride height is about 1.0 to 1.5 inch's heigher than before, but handles corners very well, more confidence, just the right amount of body roll for streets. Hopefully going to track in october, so i will be lowering it further to reduce the roll(comfort). comparing these shocks to grants(MRFTOO) newer teins, they are have a higher damper rate which on big bumps can get a bit uncomfortable.
As it was only fitted today, i will have to wait 1 or 2 weeks so they settle a bit before i give you another review
hope this helps anyone.

Hey Jono how does it compare to Boris's new KYB?? So i can compare them against Cusco P Zero R.
Those P Zero R took a while to get use to.

Ok thanks, i know Boris had his on medium setting (correct me if i'm wrong) so if he turn it up on 6-7 (since its a 8way) it would be similar to yours then yeah.
Which mean these Cusco P Zero R could be much stiffer then the TEIN HA.

yeah possibly,
last time i drove boris's Kyb's they were on a higher dampness., but not 8.
i know that the spring rate, inbound and rebound rates are > than bori's..
and prolly have a lower inbound and rebound rate than the teins.
Not as hard edged as teins, but nearly theyre, i think theyre pretty good for street, but ballancing a little more to track still. which is what i wanted..
i have no regrets.

Don't know & i should find out....Jono wrote:what are the spring rates n damper rates on the cusco's?
should match them up with the Tein HA's. i couldnt imagine anything stiffer than tein HA's... I had mine setup pretty low. and lost a few kidneys, and freinds.. LOL

You shal have to take me for a spin, or even better let me drive
When you drove my car it was set to 6, over 6 is to bumpy aroudn town, i only had it on 8 at the track..
I find with mine, i don't know if Kev ever had this, i corner so hard, that the back tyres on the hard long corners touch the wheel arches...

Is it the wheel arches or the bolt that stick out?? If its the arches just roll them with a machine or its the bolt, then change it to a different type.Boris wrote:You shal have to take me for a spin, or even better let me drive![]()

I never had this problem as i don't drive my FTO as hardcore as you Boris.

I have umm, konig or something, on the rears and I get that when cornering hard to. I also get it if there's people in the back seat and i go over bumps. Thinking about having them rolled or something? Really doesn't sound good when i'm hitting the twisties even at 60ish.Boris wrote:I find with mine, i don't know if Kev ever had this, i corner so hard, that the back tyres on the hard long corners touch the wheel arches...
