Central Locking

Post by fto_gurl »

Hi All,

When I first bought my FTO the central locking worked fine with the remote. Now when I try to use the remote to lock it, it won't work. I have tried pulling the door apart to see what it is but I can't work it out. The remote still turns the immobiliser on but it won't lock the doors.

Can anyone tell me what's goin on?

Cheers!! :)

Mods,
How do we access/search to archived topics?
I did a DIY with photos on how to replace the central locking motor. However, can’t find it by searching. Assuming it has been archived.

Your actuator (the solenoid that locks/unlocks the door) is probably dead. From what I have heard, this is not uncommon. My passenger side had an aftermarket fitted to it when I bought it and I know of several others that have had to do this too.
