but that is a big opperation for me.... -.-
is it really do able by normal people? ?
can people give alittle more info on that... -.- im really worry that i will hurt my fto....
should i unplug the battery ? or something....??
It's really easy to do, I've just replaced mine.
Just remove your intake pipe by undoing the jubilee clips.
Disconnect your battery as you have to do an ecu reset anyway, you may even want to remove your battery to give you some more room (my battery is relocated to the boot so I didn't have that problem.)
Remove the 2 bolts (8mm IIRC) from the stepper pull it out, make sure you also remove the rubber gasket ring that may still be in the throttle body.
Get an old rag and put some WD40 on it and just wipe the hole where the stepper plugs in to.
Replace the rubber gasket ring that you should get with the new stepper motor, bolt on the new stepper motor.
Re-connect intake pipe.
Re-connect battery after approximately 40 mintues from when you disconnected it.
Start the car and let it idle for at least 10 minutes.
You may also have to adjust the the screw on the throttle body that should be located under the black bung. Do this once the car has warmed up.
Have a look here for an idea on what you will need to do:
