Suspension Mods

Post by XXXFTO »

Hey Guys
Looking at lowering & adding suspension mods to my stock ride

i want to drop the rear about 15mm and the front about 30mm-45mm
(similar to G1's ride, top picture in YYGirls post 'Lowering more at front than rear?')

i dont want to compromise performance but i would like the ride to be a little softer.. Is this possible to go lower but softer than stock

If need be i will add sway bars and strut brace's to compensate for the extra body roll due to the softer suspension. (looking at whiteline's handling kit)
Any idea's or recommendations. Don't want to spend more than $1800

Cheers

$1800 will get you some good coilovers (non height/damper adjustable), strut braces and swaybars, but if you expect good performance such as less bodyroll, sharper turn in and better steering response, some level of ride comfort will be compromised somewhat...

most lowered suspension systems uses stiffer springs to compensate less travel, but having said that they also use shocks/dampers that are matched to the stiffness rate of the lowered springs so that it will not bottom-out or bounce like a ping-pong ball when it drives over a speed hump...

so at best, i think you will get near standard ride comfort with the lowered suspension that you're after...

XXXFTO, I have the springs for the height you want, and front shocks available if you are interested.

you will just need to get rear shocks and you will surely have ample change leftover from your budget even after strut/sway bars.

I have already updated the first post in that thread with whats left for sale.

somone has shown an interest in the springs - but whoever gets a deposit to me first will obviously be the buyer

1 front koni shocks -$300
2 kg/mm DR springs -$300
3 -2" front springs -$80
4 cusco LSD -$1200

best i can do is $550 for the first 2 items + shipping
