Suspension interchangability?

Post by spetz »

I want to buy some top mounts and was wondering if FTO top mounts are interchangable with Lancer ones?
And in that case, are FTO, Evo IV-VI and normal lancer ones are interchangable?

I know for a fact that the bolts on the top are the same (ie the 3 bolts) in all the cars.

I believe they are interchangeable with Mirage ones - whether they are the same as lancer ones I couldn't say... probably are.

What coilovers and what car do you drive?

As far as I know they are interchangable, but when you are forking out so much $$$ with no chance of refund if they don't fit, it's a hard decission :(

I believe that the front pillowball mounts are the same as evo 4-8.

Just in addition to the previous posts......

Anyone know if Lancer GSR and Evo I,II,III Coilovers will fit the FTO?

Part numbers for the rear seem the same but the fronts are different but this could be due to spring rates etc.

Cheers

Spring rates probably different plus GSR has 2 bolts on the top rather than the FTO and CE lancer's 3 bolt

Thanks Spetz!

Have been on the hunt for some good secondhand Ohlins, Cusco or Tein coilovers and noticed a few cheap sets for early EVO's going around.

I'll stop trying to be a tightarse and scrap that idea then. :-)

So, just to my understanding, top mount is the same wording for bearing plate, and FTO GPX top mounts are interchangeable with Mirage’s. Is this correct?

I need to buy 2xBearing Plate, so who do I contact. Mitsubishi?
