6A12 MIVEC + GTO manual gearbox

Post by skweel »

Hi guys, i've been reading your site awhile and i must say that you are all up to some pretty exciting stuff.

I am writing from singapore and i own a 98 spec Galant VRM (it has the 6A12 Mivec motor)

I am planning to do a manual conversion and was wondering if the 6 speed manual tranny from the GTO would be able to fit.

Thanks in advance.

I would doubt it - the GTO motor is much bigger than the FTO engine, and therefore the bellhousing is likely to be different. In any case, the GTO gearbox is a 4WD box and you would be after a FWD box.

You would be better off getting the 5spd from an FTO, or from another Galant like yours...
