URGENT!! Auto Electrician Recommendations needed!

Post by sunraider »

Hi Everyone,

Im in NSW and looking for an Auto Electrician preferably max 20kms away from Rockdale (or somewhere east or inner west/south west).

NRMA has said my starter motor may be gone, and I really need a good auto elec to change it on my car. My car is sitting on a road 2 streets away from my house so I need any recommendations asap, and preferably how much I should expect to pay for this.

Can somebody HELP!!

Hi Sunraider, I know a really good mobile mechanic in that area. Try John on 0419 699 837. He does all the fleet cars at my old mans work (Liftronic) in Matraville. He's reasonably cheap & should be able to repair your starter or find a suitable replacmement.

Cheers,
Ben

Ben,

Thanxs mate. All done and dusted. He went out and bought a new starter motor for the galant, and then fit it into the existing FTO starter motor cover (because the Galant's one was too big).

He did all the running around for me and got the job done in about 2 hrs all up. Not sure how much the starter motor cost, but all up it brought it to $380, which I reckon is damn good compared to what I think any other mechanic would have charged and they would have taken about 2 days.

All in all i didnt have to leave my friend's house at all, and am really happy with the job. Thanks!

Thats a good price for a brand new starter installed!

A Reco would be about $200 + labour

give the starter a few knocks with hammer/mullet bet you it starts. Starter is located bout 70cms from the center front of the car at the bottom.
