Auto transmission

Post by fto_gurl »

My FTO is auto and the gears seem to be changing really rough. From 1st to 2nd its quite rough, as in, you can really feel the change, 2nd to third is a bit better and third to 4th you can't feel at all. But also when the car is in third adn you are travelling up a hill it tends to shudder until you get higher revs. Can anyone tell me what's going on at all? I need to know its really giving me the sh*ts.

Thanks.

you might want to have your transmission flushed and the fluid changed , as it may be the problem.

It is recommended to change it every 20,000km

Im not 100% sure but im guessing anywhere from $80 -$150.
(somebody correct me if im wrong) :D

Make sure you do it real soon, as the 4 speed gearboxes need to be looked after allot.

It could also be that your auto transmission ECU needs to be reprogrammed so that it learns how you drive the car. Just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and it will forget the old settings. It may take a few days to get back to the way you like it.

Or you could just drive in manual mode
LED ALL the things.

ya i did the disconnect trick when i first got the car then drove round for 30mins and the ecu will learn your driving style and smoothed it out for me. Hope it works for you cause you'll save $100 :)
