Map Sensor

Post by YAF28F »

Hi Guys,
I haven't been here for a while but I've ran into a little problem of trying to get a Map Sensor.
Does anyone know if the Map sensor on a gpx is same as any other mitusbishi car?

also is there any other wreckers in sydney other than "Just Jap" or "Leader Japanese spare parts" that wreck FTOs?

I've tried to use the search without much luck.

Thanks

Michael

Yep, the GPX MIVEC engine uses MAP sensor. It's the non-MIVEC that uses the MAS (airflow) sensor.

I've tried to have a look on the CAPS program. Is this part number MD311994? If so, it lists the following vehicles...

CJ1A CJ2A CK1A CK2A CL2A CM2A DE3A (that's the FTO) F36A

Do Mitsubishi supply the above part number here in Oz?

Also, try getting onto something like http://www.partslocator.com.au and find the wreckers with FTOs... Then obtain one you know is correct.

Thanks for the part number, not is there actually a listing of the import wreckers in NSW? actually, is there a state wide import wreckers listing?

Thanks

Why don't you try buying a new one from Mitsubishi? I've found that most wreckers sell for the same price as mitsubishi because it's an import. Try either Northshore Mitsubishi or Tynan Mitsubishi in Kirrawee. Quote them the part number and they'll be able to find out if they are available in NSW. Good luck!

Thanks for that guys.
I totally forgot there was even a partslocator.com.au, I'll be ringing around tomorrow.
I've alreayd rang northshore mitsubishi and the were quoting around $360 or so and a couple weeks wait so I wanted to see if I can find it cheaper and here in oz already.

Hopefully this is what will fix my stalling problem, after replacing o2 sensor, ecu and stepper motor.

MAP Sensor

Post by hawk7 »

Hi

Im having similar problems trying to locate the sensor- and I too have a 1995 5sp gpx MIRVEC. I was interested to know how things panned out and what was the eventual price and how long it took to recieve the part. My auto electrician ordered one from Tynans and they have told him 2 -3 weeks and then we spoke with northshore and I was told I was after a completely different part and I was looking at at least $700!! The auto electrician pulled the part and can confirm that the part is a MD311994.

What can I say I can admit Im just a mere female looking for the direction of superior males!! haha

I was very unlucky on last weekend. After checking if they had a MAP sensor at JUSTJAP for the last couple of months or so(and they didn't). I went there last weekend to get some parts for my GTR and asked about the MAP sensor, it so happened that they had one and was going to sell it for me for $125 , I had it in my hand and handed him the money until the other guy said he promised it to someone else already.

talk about bad timing.
