Congrats Stephen, 40 hrs sheesh what a marathon!! but thanks to u at least we're up... There must be something happening in the world of chats.... Ezyboard has also been hacked and as soon as it is fixed it crashes again.. Something not right here... Lets hope moving to a different server has solved the prob.

Thanks again Steve for all your time and effort!!

WARNING DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DON'T LIKE BAD LANGUAGE

Ok normally i don't verbalise my frustrations here but i'm going to....

The little pre-pubescent little f**kers who have been attacking our site have now cost me personally 10 grand in lost revenue over the reminder of this year. Clients have walked because of the security breaches this website has caused – and yes they can break their contracts for those who are questioning this. I’ve had to move ftoaustralia.com to its own web server to protect the remained of income the other web-server was generating this has cost me additional money and I’m really pissed off about it.

Not to mention the disruption to my life and the personal issues I’ve been managing over the last few weeks which really did not need to be interrupted by these little pimple faced, no friends, never kissed a girl wankers.

I was actually ready to let this website die and everything with it.

Over the last 5-6 weeks I’ve spent close to 70 hours patching this website and I’ve given up on phpnuke and will be looking at an alternative CMS solution. I’m somewhat limited as there aren’t that many that support “upgradingâ€

I hear your pain Steve, vent away..
I used to host couple of sites a while back & they got hacked, I restored 'em, they got hacked again, I restored them again, they got hacked again...
Eventually the little c_nts left me alone - they get bored if you keep bringing it back up the same.

Then again there's always another pimply faced prick around the corner to take over where the last one left off..

Oh and by the way Steve, if you ever need more servers or server bits let me know. I have good stock at the moment & would be happy to donate to a good cause.

I can't offer much more than my thanks Steve. So, thank you. Your efforts are appreciated.

Just to add my own story. I worked for an ISP once. One of our kiddy clients pissed off the wong person who then turned several of their very large US links, 100%, on our client. Naturally, this had the desired effect of flooding our client off. It also filled our bandwidth...and took down the Telstra Gold Coast link and half of Telstra Brisbane.

Cheers,

Gavin

Are you sure the hackers gained access via the FTO Australia site? i.e. is this what the log files say?

PHP-Nuke is fairly robust, most hackers gain access via other poorly written scripts, some of which then give them access to the entire server. It's quite probably that another site which shares this same server was the entry point for the hacker.

People who gain access via porrly written scripts, actually know a little about computers, however these kiddys just read an article on a hole in phpnuke, and find every site they can wiht that exploit and screw with it.
I think you have done a great job with this site steve, and its too bad that some little Sh1ts want to ruin that.
2 things I stay away from when making websites is iis and content managment systems.
Althought i havent been involved with the making of a website that gets as many hits as this, usually when making dynamic content on a webpage, ill trus my own scripts over anyone elses. However doing so would take a lot longer then the 40 hours spent restoring this site.

thanks guys,
Nuke once its patched is pretty robust, the latest exploit was via the Gallery section which was a previously unknown exploit ... YAY!

i use CMS as once its setup there's normally bugger all to do except let it run and make sure the backups are completed properly....

anyways ... i'm really happy to see there are so many "addicts"

:D
