is it possible to put a 4G63 engine in an fto and if so would it work out to be cheaper than turbing a 6A12?

Yeah it's possible, Don't know if it's been done in Aus yet.

A ha found the pic :D

Price wise i think it would work out to be very similar. Factor in the price of the engine, custom mounts, piping and the like and it would add up

Yeah there are fair bit of this topic lately, so i guess if you scroll down tech or help section a bit more, you should find some more thread on this.

As Slither said, we haven't seen anyone done it yet, at least not published, but there are few in UK & Japan.

Well custom engine mounts and all the other stuff don't come cheap. Anything that has to be custom made cost $$$'s

I'd talk to your mechanic. I've had a chat to mine and engine conversions aint easy. It costs lots and takes plenty of time

If you keep the FTO gearbox then you need a custom bell housing and then you'll need a custom clutch and clutch plate to fit them together. Then engine mounts, wiring, ECU etc.....

Here is another EVO'd FTO and I know the owner :D

Basicaslly it uses evo5 running gear. And i think it's more straightforward installing the 4wd system that ywe think. And it's a lot faster than evos. As it is almost 200kg lighter. I just donb't like that front bar. nThe engine is standart. And the car is in very fine condition and has not any probs. It uses the gearbox of the evo so there is never going to be a prob like DannyBoy with clutches and driveshafts. He was selling it for 25000 pounds. That is 71,245.65 AUD which is a lot of money i think. You could buy a evo 8 and put 15000 Aud mods on it. But then again it would never look that good

Taveion FTO GT300 is the best example of a 4G63 being stuffed into an FTO, its hard to find information about it but I loved the Taevion FTO. Its worth a look if you can find an english site on the car

It will fit, if you got great amount of money, i've look into this already, & as i posted before, it end up costing equal to 1 & 1/2 Evo 4 or 5 by the time you finish.

ahhhhh that thread is long gone, & its really about "I'm smarter then everyone here when it comes to car, even though i'm not a mechanic" i think only like 20-30 members seen it. And most had left the club since then.

Why don't u just translate that page, you get more info out of it.
