AWD FTO...? is it possible

Post by mrStumpy »

Would it be possible to either use a EVO or a GTO setup on a FTO?

Any ideas, somebody know anybody I can talk to in regards to such a project?

Just think the FWD is letting the FTO potentential down.

it is possible with some of the evo drive trains but it involves a lot of modifications which mean a lot of $$$. unless you got deep pockets, it's probably not worth doing cos it won't make much difference unless you do an engine transplant aswell.

There are few of us had look into that option already, you have to modify the floor pan, & strengthen the chassis. Which like devil2004 mention; you need deep pockets, at least $40k-50k I estimated, & a very very very knowledgeable mechanic.

Don't forget your car will be off the road for a very long time too.

I hate to break this to you, but GTO is not the same league as the EVO or FTO.

It too heavy to go through twisty & track, also there aren't any room in the engine bay to do any good modification. But its a good long distance cruising.

There is some hope!! I was reading about the pikes peak rally in America. I come across a interesting car competing in the rally. It was an FTO, I thought it seeing things. I read that the owner had the FTO changed into 4wd and had put a turbo in it. The magazine was either hot 4's or fast4 and rotories? not sure which. I will try and look for more info. :)
