my fto needs help!!
Hi all.. well im a new fto owner.. and ive noticed this problem recently. i have a GR triptonic model and within the first 10 or 15 mins of me starting the car, when i drive.. whether it be automatic or the triptonic, when changing from gear to gear, the car feels like it jumps forward and a loud thud can be heard.
Also, the 'N' indicator starts flashing after about 30 secs of me being in 3rd gear. This is such a hassle.. i can also hear this clicking noise in the front of the car when all this is happening.. it increases with accelerating.. it gets less but doesnt go away completely..
can anyone please help me..!

can anyone please let me know if there is a mechanic in sydney that can have a look at my fto and know what he's doing???? i really want to get my problem fixed...
The 'N' started flashing again today.. i read up on the manual and it says it happens if the auto fluid heats up.. but it also said that if it flashes at the rate of once every sec.. then take it to a mechanic right away..
so... please help!!!

Try to buy the sensor and oils yourself to save money
Sensor is about $150 from Kempys in NZ (give them your chassis number and they will get the right one for you) Peter service is excellent...
Buy the engine and tranny oil yourself
About $50 for engine and $70 for Tranny oil (I suggest getting factory mitsu tranny oil)
Then you only have to pay for labour

Hmmm if we count all the posts reqarding to transmission theres more problem with manuel then tiptronic. You got to remember its not the actual transmission that have a problem, its how you look after & maintain it, if you don't look after it, who cares if its made by NASA.akuma3 wrote:wow didn't know tiptronic FTO have so much problems with gears, maybe manuel is more fun after all

hey welcome to the club!
what ever you do dont skimp on the engine oil
5w synth oil all the way
when i got my engine i didntk now it had been abused and it busted
beyound that it had always had cheap 20 or 30w put into it (after calling the mech who regurally serviced it!)
bah
anyways since hten its been happy days!
