I have a slow leak somewhere and after 5 days or so of the car sitting there doing nothing the battery will be dead, brand new battery too. Umm i know this is a hard problrm to find cause it probably a short somewhere but if someone could suggest some of the most common things which could cause it would help.

Probably the easiest way to find out...
If your an NRMA member, give em a call and get em round.
Within 60 seconds of multimetre work, they'll tell you either battery is shot, or alternator is not charging. Unless u got some sorta wizz bang sterio or DVD player in the boot thats not turning off... thats a liitle harder to find - but can be traced none the less.
