Engine Warning Light

Post by DVSJOHNNYB »

Hi guys, I'm hoping that someone can help me with my problem. After driving my car for about 15mins + engine warning light comes on. Sometimes it will change gears at the wrong time (ie. 4th down to third while doing eighty etc) Then sometimes the car will turn off. This is a major concern as the first time the car turned off was when i was half way around a corner and a truck was comin at me. However when i turn the car back on, it seems fine for the next couple of minutes.

I have recently had the 100k service and had the spark plugs changed, timing belt, trans. fluid changed + filter changed and is not as bad but problem is still there.

I tried extracting the ecu codes but i couldn't find the plug that i am supposed to earth. Mine is not there. Also i am not mechanically compentent.

Thanx in advanced for any help.
Johnny...

Sounds like theres some problem with your engine pressure, have you got any after market products that alter the setting? You might also want to check your fuel pressure.

No i haven't got anything that alters any settings in my engine the only aftermarket products in my car are my UAS CAI and stereo system. How do i check my fuel pressure? Does anyone know of any workshops in Sydney that could help me? (Preferably between Campbelltown and Fairfield)

Thanks Ther, I saw Paden today and he found that I had a problem with the wiring of my map sensor. Anyway now I need a new MAP sensor. Can anybody help me out? Where can I buy one?
