MIVEC Vs. VTEC YO!!!!! Mods

Post by spetz »

Ok this isn't a thread about which one is better (MIVEC or VTEC YO!!!!!)

It's a thread of modding each engine.
As everyone knows there is a much larger aftermarket for VTEC YO!!!!!'s, and even in NA there are B16's making over 250bhp with off the shelf parts.

Now, what about MIVEC? Is it just because the engines are not as popular and therefore there aren't that many aftermarket parts for them or is it that even with the aftermarket parts, the VTEC YO!!!!!'s just respond better to the mods?

Also please keep comments unbiased :?

i think its largely because there are way more VTEC YO!!!!!'s out there and therefore there is a bigger market for aftermarket parts.... im pretty sure our engines would respond well to similar products that the vtecs use... its just that its not economically viable for the companies to produce aftermarket items for such a small FTO market.... and a dwindling market at that.....

im sure there once were some good aftermarket parts for the fto....but since its a 10 yr old car, any parts are now out of production and are either too hard to find off the shelf or need to be made to order....

cheers

Do you have any idea of how to source these kind of parts?

this is exactly why i'm building parts with UAS...

my engine should be somewhere around the 215-220 bhp at the moment... once the cams and intake are finished i hope it to be well over the 250bhp mark ...

i'm aiming for somewhere between 115-130kw at the wheels...

The fact there is a massive market for Hondas in the US of A also helps the aftermarket situation.
From FTO to EVO......
