NOW WHAT????

Post by elmo »

Alrighty, this theft thingy is turning into a major nightmare.
So we got the steering lock off and managed to start the car.
I was all keen on a quick run to check her out so in with the clutch and into first, out with the clutch and rev rev. HMM that seem funny, were not moving??? and the TCL off light is flashing??? OH SHIOT!!!

So I'd say the clucth is fried but why is the TCL off light flashing?
Anyone had any problems with the TCL before and anyone got any ideas on what is damagd or better still how they managed to f.ck it??

This is driving me nuts, I just want my car back and it is just problem after problem. Worse still, the insurance will only pay for the rental for two weeks, so now it's startin to cost money and thats bad.

Please help if you can I just dont know about this one??

write off

Post by elmo »

Unfortunately it was already/still damaged cause I am still waiting on my bodykit, so the car probably wont be written off.
But it sounds like they are up for a full rebuild and a clutch which is gonna cost $$$, cause that means the engines gotta come out, that means weeks off the road, what a nightmare.
But anyway, nuf bitchin.
As for car pooling, anyone wanna drop me at work at 5pm and pick me up 5am then speak up...
Dont think there will be too many takers on that one.
Hey O2NV, you did your clutch if i remember right, what did it cost?

STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR WAS BROCKEN
OK so which one is that? Might be just cause I pulled the sensors off the lock then.
Think there is one of those on the lock I am getting (all wiring comes with it) you ordered yours yet cause I will Know tomorrow and can do it heaps cheaper than that. As long as there is nothin wrong with mine.

I got my clutch replaced, parts cost 700 and labour was 400. That was from Collins Mitsubishi, they are fairly expensive.

well it looks like you thought right... any offers so far?? ;)

i haven't 'done' my clutch yet, but i know it's starting to wear out but my mech reckons she still got about 20-25,000kms left in it, so who knows? not sure if it's just me, but after warming up the car from cold start, it certainly feels better to drive, as in the clutch take up point is smoother during gearchanges...

...does anybody have problems with going into 2nd gear smoothly after a cold start in the morning (without warming the car)??

about that warming up thing...
Maybe the 1st to second synchro is gone.
Or it could be just the shifter needs adjusting, I think they are adjustable. When the car warms up things get bigger, fit tighter and work better. Maybe there is a rod or something that is slightly bent that straightens when it warms up???
I had a bent rod in the 4wd transfer box on my suzi, Kept jumping out of high range. could only drive it in low cause the rod was not long enough to push it into high. When we took it apart, the rod was only bent by a mickey whisker, but still enuf to make it work.
Worst bit was no one would machine a new rod incase it broke and caused an accident damn.
good luck
ask your mechanic where that sensor is hey.
