Anyone know what the braking distance is for an FTO from 100 clicks?
I was reading about the Chrysler Crossfire and it does 100 - 0 in 38 metres. Pretty impressive I thought.
Unimpressive was the 0 - 100 time compared to the FTO, almost the same yet the Crossfire has a 3.2L V6....I love my FTO
In my opionion the Crossfire is an awesome by, they are an SLK Mercedes with a different body and a chrysler badge. ALL of the mechanical parts are the same. It just doesn't cost as much.
ah yes...sorry... i have no idea.... when measuring braking distance, do they just gun it at 100km/h and then slam on the brakes? im assuming they would otherwise there would be too many other variables like tyres, brake pedal pressure, etc...
why dont you just find a nice long bit of "private" road and try it yourself heheheh and measure how long the black lines on the road are afterwards

easiest way is to put a start mark on the road then a mark every 10 metre's get a nice big run up and start braking at the first mark...
it'll also measure your reaction time as well (including it in the stopping distance)....
my FTO stops very quickly... well at least my braking zones into corners on the race track are pretty late... very rarely have i needed to stop on the normal roads in a real hurry but everytime i have i've had plenty of room (and no abs on my car)
well using my G3 tyres, "green stuff" brake pad, 100km stop is not as bad as i thought, but i wouldn't do it again to kill my tyre ... but in rain conditions ... arrrr it scare the crap outta me
