I have discovered to my dismay that I have a battery drain (constant current draw even with everything off) on my 95 GPX Tip.
Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the cause. If I drive it every day then all is ok, when it sits for a couple of days (2) the battery reads 1.5v.
No lights are left on and the stereo is off.
For the time being I will need to dirve it everyday , no a problme but it will need to be fixed.
You don't have an aftermarket alarm do you? It could be the alarm, otherwise always start simple, try swapping the battery over with a freinds or something...
How do you know there is a current draw? The Battery itself may be just on it's last legs? Any alarm that flattens a battery in a couple of days should be burnt at the stake, current draw from an alarm should be milliamps...I think.
After market amplifier maybe but at idle (no music) current draw would be minimal also. I am guessing the battery is unwell, try a swap as suggested.
I had this problem but it was around 5 days and I had just bought an Oddysey 800 but it just seemed to go away.
Nah... not the battery it's brand new. no amp on stereo yet, I have JL subby and Alpine amp waiting to go in . No Alarm, has an imoboliser like everyone else but everything is pretty much standard. The head unit switches itself off and is very unlikely that it is the problem.
It would more than likely be an engine component that has deteriorated like the starter motor, given the age of the car. I had a friend of mine have troubles with his starter motor draining his battery overnight (mind you he had a commodore, but the principles are the same).
I had the same problem. Replaced the battery but that didn`t fix it. It turned out to be the alternator. If I didn`t drive it for 3 days or more it would be flat. But if I drove it every day no Probs. I know this doesn`t make sense, but I took it to a reliable auto elec, and he diagnosed the problem. Since it has been done ( about 9 months now ) , it has been fine.

weird problem! You need to look over your car a bit to really know whats going on.
It could be the alternator, not charging the batt enough, causing it to totally die from the lack or charge.
Could be a electrical problem with some sort of aftermarket device, such as alarm, stereo weird incorrectly etc.
When yuo say it doesnt start does it require a jump start to get going? If not could be your starter motor.
Also batteries even new can be weird soemtimes. A lot of people know once a battery looses its charge completely its really hard to get the battery back to its original shape.
Take the battery back if its still under warranty get another and go from there.

This is what I have been told. Having work on aircraft as an Avionic technician it does make some sense (not much). I have been told this by my service shop as they have had a few imports with the same problem, and replacing alternators fixed the problem. They couldn't explain it either but they said "it just does".
My alternator is charging at 14.1V so looks pretty good but from what I have been told asking around this is not always an indication that it is working.
Anyway taking it to auto elec soon so will post results for any one curoius.
If you want you can try this yourself, or just leave it up to the autoelectrician to do....
So to isolate the culprit you will need to connect an ammeter in series with your battery, then start pulling one fuse at a time from the fuse panel until the ammeter reading drops.
This will tell you which circuit is draining the battery. Then you have to check the wiring and each of the components in that circuit to pinpoint the problem.
A wiring diagram I highly reccommend you download. Because That will help you heaps if you are trouble shooting, or any autoelectritian.
You have a rare problem, that's for sure... Alternator... it could be a shorted alternator diode... maybe...
