make sure the electrician knows about imported cars, if FTO then is a bonus, or you going to have "chop & butch" session :?

its on the top left hand side corner, looks like a helicopter one

i have being to the electrician today, and he told me they have detect the code: some turbo code which doesn't apply to my car. so he cleared it for me. he also told me that it wont light up again. well that really didn't hepl cos when i was driving home later on, when i did a turn very slowly, the car just froze. the engine stopped completely. i also noticed the battery light plus the one above (oil light?) both lit up.

if anyone knows any electrician that specialise in FTo Please let me know. I dont think the one i went to today know fto very well.

THanks guys

If it is the alternator your volt meter on the dash should be reading very low as the alternator charges the battery during driving. Alternatively it could be your battery is crapping itself. Either way the volt meter would show it. Turn you car on to auxilary and see what the volt meter reads.

Good luck

an easy way to tell is start the car, and then pop the bonnet and unplug the battery (only the red terminal) if the car stalls it is the alternator if not, turn the car off before reconnecting the battery

 i am not very good with cars. sorry guys but thanks so much for your help

the volt reading is 14v. is that normal? the engine light still goes on and doesnt flash. when it does, something always happens.

That is about right when the alternator is working fine so that's not the problem. When I was driving round the other week with a dying alternator I was doing 10v. If the alternator was dead you'd be reading round 12v and it'd start dropping until you've killed the battery. When you get there you'll know it.

did experienced something similar to this before, but it was on my honda prelude. I got RACQ down because the engine refused to start after stalling and it was the battery bracket that came loose when i took a really sharp corner... Hope this will somehow help.

Cheers

They have fixed the problem, its the vacuum sensor!!! The sensor was detecting the wrong signals. I dont know if that has happened to anyone before. But lucky me
