Recommend a Shop
I think it would be good to recommend or review the shops/Workshops you go to for products or for servicing in canberra
Bold the Stores that are good, and leave the not as good shops unbolded.
1. Supercheap Belconnen - Cheapest on big brand oils and cleaning products such as meguires. I buy my oils and filters and general cleaning stuff from here
2. The Lifestyle Store - These guys are in sydney, but i totally recommend them for car audio, they have the best brands(Apline, Clarion, Boston) and willing to negotiate a really good price. Bought my Alpine head unit with a good discount.
3. Repco Belconnen - I dont really go here that much as their prices seem 15 % more than others on oils and tools, super cheap/ auotbahn seem to have wider range too.

Gah, can anyone recommend a shop to take the car to for a gearbox checkup?
Unfortunately my gearbox is slipping and I've tried all other recommend tactis (check fuses - replace trans oil and filter - reset ECU) and none have worked.
This leads to one conclusion - my apparently "40,000kms" gearbox is dying.
Now I need to know a transmission place locally that knows about tiptronic gearboxes, I've thought of perhaps EVO as they were the ones who did the gearbox fix the first time (with previous owner).

Hmmm. well. The only two that I can think of will cost heaps.
1) Fast & Furious
THey do a pretty good job, prices are avarage, the owner has an FTO. The only downside is that the take ages, and ages.
2) Jakes Performance
Haven't had any expeirnce with Jake, personally, but it will take like time for you to get a booking
Remember, it is better to over pay, for a good job then to under pay for a person that hasn't seen a tip FTO box before. Good Luck

Maybe if they did it the first time and it's already stuffing up, you shouldn't take it in for a 2nd time???BuCkEt wrote:Gah, can anyone recommend a shop to take the car to for a gearbox checkup?

The guy who did my conversion is pretty cheap (comared to ACT prices) and does a good job. Also has experience with FTO's.
He is in sydney, about 265km from the Dickson shell
