Aftermarket headlight

Post by SchumieFan »

Spotted this on that GX i was looking at getting

RED = Original bulb
Green = extra bulb

this is in the High beam assembly and the whole headlight assembly was not original, did not have the black surround.

This is normal for series II (face lifted) FTOs not an "aftermarket" mod. (You could have found this out by doing a search :?)

The series I (pre-face lift) FTO has the parker light with the driving light whereas the series II FTO has the parker light with the high-beam light.

If you do a face-lift upgrade to the series I FTO you then have a problem as you'll have no parker lights either with the driving lights or with the high-beams. Without parkers you run into legal / road worthy problems :roll:

In both cases however the globe is still the same (5w T10). :wink:

the headlight is definatly aftermarket, had a different brand sticker on the left headlight, and it looked like someone had acctually drilled the hole and put the second bulb in themselves. ie. adapted an older FTO headlight.

it was acctually rather ugly :?

maybe they couldn't find a series II headlight and took it from elsewhere and modified it.
