Headlight Adjustment

Hey all i did a search for how to adjuect headlights but i couldnt find anythnig conclusive.

You just play with the three screws surrounding the back of the bulb right?

I fiddled with them and they didnt move. I even tried loosening all three to try physically move the housing with my hand and it wouldnt move.

Am i doing the right thing? If so why isnt my bulb moving?

Are you talking about adjusting the height of the cut off?
There is only one screw looking thing for each light. what I mean here is that one for low beam, one for high beam for each side. Low beam one adjusts the height of the cut off up or down, and high beam one moves the focus of the light to the left or right.

nope, you just grab the bulb base and surrounding rubber boot and pull or push it. :wink:

cut off as in the height of the beam right? Mines directed too low.

ah i think i saw these screws, they are neat the base of the housing right?

I found if you put tin foil around the bumper and base of the headlight it bounces the beam higher quite nicely :D

Dont forget that
"The headlamps should be aimed with the proper beamsetting equipment, and in accordance with the equipment manufacture's instructions." (workshop manual 54/23)
Also adjustment should be done when the engine is running at 2000rpm, correct tyre pressure, driver is sitting in the car, plus there is Australian standards for the settings.

Changing the settings to too high will result in having 2 sets of high beams instead of 1, blinding other drivers. Too low, you cant see much, so, there goes the roos.

If you read the workshop manual, section 54, pages 23, 24, 25 there are lots of information how to set correctly, however, if you dont have the setup screen it is very hard to do it at home.

I'm currently trialing an extra cylinder in my car by ripping the motor off my two stroke lawn mower and retrofitting it to the cam shaft ;) There's nothing quite like the purr of a V7 ;)
