Power loss, then back!! then loss, then back!!

guys

i getting worried about my car!!!

as i drive normally looking around as people start to look at my car....

sometimes my music just cuts out for like a split second and then it comes back on...

this has been happening a lot, and i dont know why!!! someone help!!

I just install new Pioneer 6x9s and 6.5" to my FTO couple of weeks ago and following this same thing happend to me as well.
I discovered that power lost was happening when increasing the volume too high.
As I did the cabling, I though there might be sparks happening between open threads of the cables.
So, I bought some connection adapters with plastic covers (looks like a single tube, and you put the cables into tube from both ends and squize the ends) on them from Kmart, cost me about $2.
It seems that my problem has been resolved. Havent experienced since.

So, my suggestion is that, check your connection points that nothing is interrupting, also check your cabling for damages.

Anbu, Its pretty easy to check if everything is ok with your setup, except cabling running through under the carpet.

First try to find out which speaker is causing the problem. Unplug the speakers at the back, and start banging the music. If power lost happens, problem might be causing from the front speakers setup. If not, do the same think for the back speakers.

If you find what side(front or rear) of the car generates the problem, you might try the same test technic for left and right speakers.

After that either open parts of the cables are touching or something wrong with connection plugs, as far as I think.

Please let me know if you need further help.

PS; it is always a good practice too disconnect your (-) from the battery, when doing some electrical work with your car.

A friendly piece of advice...

You might want to think twice about placing incriminating evidence on a public forum which anyone can access.

Although it hasn't happened here (as far as we can tell), Police have used information from other car club's public forums.

I have this problem occured 2 days ago again,
If I turn up the volume bit too much, my head unit starting to turn off and on again.
I dont have an amplifier in my car.
Payaya, you said it is due to the reason that amp is going into protection mode.
How can I overcome this problem in my system.

Could be a dodgy ground...

If the head unit's turning off, it does sound like poor current flow for the head unit, or bad ground on an amp.

The latter issue can act up very badly if the amp is able to see 'ground' back through the RCA cables to the HU!

I've seen this, and it's ugly! The entire amp current load is going via all the worst places.

Try refitting each component's -ve connection to the chassis. It needs to be a good, solid, paint-free link.

If this persists, I would try running a temporary +ve cable (a good thick one) direct from the battery to each component. Then turn it up again, and see if this resolves the problem.

That's the cheap & easy things to check first, anyway.

Ohhh, I remember now that the ground cable is on a black painted piece of metal behind the centre console, so, this might well be the problem. Incorrect grounding.
I will try to relocate the cable to a bare metal and see if it works.
