ignition timing
hey all
does anyone know how to alter ignition timing... since there's coilpacks and no distributor to turn, i cant figure it out... can the ignition timing be changed without playing with the computer?
cheers

the ECU is constantly monitoring the engine and changing the ignition timing to meet load / fuel quality / air density / etc...

ok i understand that... so my problem is, my timing used to be right on 10 btdc on 98 RON and then i played around with the car a bit and now its not on 10 btdc anymore ... its slightly off and idle is a little lumpy...
the ECU can only adjust the ignition timing within certain limits... so im thinking either my crank sprocket is off a notch, theres something wrong with my crank angle sensor, or theres something wrong with my spark plugs...
any ideas?
cheers

What have you touched since =)
Has it been advanced or retarded???
I'm guessing retarded but you never know =)
Engine might be running in safe mode for some reason, have you tried an ECU reset???
If it is running in safe mode, it might be fueling related.
Probably should do the whole ground out the MUT-II plug and check if there are any engine codes floating in the system.
Honestly, without knowing if anything has changed, etc, etc it could be anything. =)
