My car wont start after a timing belt job, there's no valve piston interference and it cranks over fine but just wont start, everything is plugged in correctly and I dont know what else could be the problem. I want to verify that the painted on timing mark on my crankshaft is correct, so which cylinder is supposed to be at TDC when the crank marks line up?

Number 1. Hence the term, top dead centre lol

It's the rear left cylinder.

Im not too keen to take the intake off again. Isn't each rear cylinder sync'd up with a front cylinder?

I have been going off the white paint on the tooth at the top, but after I cleaned the sprocket I noticed there is a circular indentation below the tooth at the bottom, is this the actual timing mark??

So basically what happened to my sensor was while doing a complete rebuild on my old fto we didnt 100% correctly align the sensor with the cam gear and the metal piece that passes through the sensor therfore ripping it apart
