My kids have got to big for the back seats of my FTO, so its a reluctant sale of my prized possession.

As I get it ready for sale, I thought I give the FTO community here are preview.

1995 GPX Mivec FTO. 4 speed tiptronic auto, 150,000 km (or there abouts).

This is one of the best condition FTO's you'll find in Australia. Absolutely no rust and the electrics are in fine order.
Stock engine, with 150,000 genuine km's. Imports are notorious for having there speedo's tampered with, but 150,000 fits in with the general condition of the car, so I'm very sure they are genuine.

Has had a beautiful set of mag tires added, and they have a good couple of years of tread left.

Ive had the car for about 4 years now, mainly as a short distance work commuter and occasional track-day car (twice). The only major thing I have had to do was get the airconditioning serviced, which now runs like a dream.
Starts first time every time, doesnt use any oil. Regularly serviced. I think the Rego has a good 9 months left, but I can confirm exact date.

A car like this is rare to find now days.

Just my 2 cents worth, Not to rain on your parade but 8000 is a very very high price, not to say you cant get it, just that its an extremely unlikely price for a very stock car.

Let's not go down this path ... If his price is too high, it won't sell, and he will adjust it...

It took me a good 6 to 9 months to buy this car first time around. There are a lot of dross FTO's on the market at the 6K to 7k price range from what I saw with all sorts of problems.

Where do you get it serviced ... May be good to put the contact name so if a potential buyer here comes along, they can call the mechanic to chat about the history ... Just a thought..

Just an update, earlier this year I ended up withdrawing my FTO from sale, as other priorities took over, and the cash I'd earmarked to upgrade to another vehicle got taken over by a bathroom renovation that morphed into sewer line replacement. Plus the whole carsales expirience wasnt great. Maybe I over priced it a little, but didnt get hardly any serious calls.

Anyway, it is still on the market as Im now getting over the financial hump. Ive stopped advertising. I think this is the sort of car that FTO fan would appreciate, rather than the general public.

I ended up keeping the car again. It was overpriced and as a consequence carsales didnt generate any enquiries.

I will be selling it over the next few months so if you are after a genuine mivec in good nick, make me an offer.

I have mine up for $6,500. Only one tyre kicker that never ended up coming to look.. and mine has a brand new motor and box.

It is not that they want something for nothing, it is just when you start getting into the higher bracket, there are many more options they can take instead.

With the free trade going ahead as well, I would expect all import prices will drop a little, and will mean the want for a higher priced FTO will be even less.... Most of these are 20 year old cars after all ... Even though you would never pick their age from the styling... IMO

Im about to re-list it on Car sales for $3,500 o.n.o. this coming weekend.

Its has new front tyres since the OP. and up to about 163,000 km.
Its just been up to Nelson bay and back (from Sydney) and didnt skip a beat. (Although I may have a speeding fine on the way )
