Just swapped my Daihatsu Sirion for a Mirage
I've wanted one for years!
Going to pick it up in a week

Xena, you're not fooling anyone with that P plate.
got big plans for it, or just a daily?

There's potential for a thread about anything on FTO Australia

Had my license for so long now I don't even remember having a red p plate
Picking it up on Sunday on the central coast.
Not sure what I'm going to do with it. I've always wanted to get one and drop a decent engine in, but I'm still enjoying spending all my money on the FTO so far
I do plan on Liquid Wrapping it (along with the FTO) when that becomes available, and I'm going to do up the interior.

My grandmother owned a mirage, and I loved driving it to the mechanic and back for her.
Lookin' good!

My mechanic gives me sh*t all the time about owning an FTO - refers to it as my Magna. I told him I got the Mirage and he just
at me.
So now I have Baby Magna and Sporty Magna

My local mechanic owns a baby blue Chrysler PT cruiser with 19" chromes on it... Any argument of his will forever be invalid.

Normally the joke went.
Nice Magna when it was a Galant VR4
Nice Lancer when it was an FTO.
Your mechanic sound like a twat for switching the jokes around.
Screen door, battleship...

No accounting for taste
I named them baby and sporty
Steve's (the mechanic) pretty cool - he's just a sh*t stirrer like me
Besides, I can't risk any karma as he has my car all week LOL

I am more concerned about why your car is with a mechanic for weeks?

Meh, could be a number of things. Busy mechanic, big job (respray, engine rebuild, head gasket, waiting on parts etc).
Thornleigh has had my engines for about a month.
I fix cars.

Not weeks ... man I'd go nuts without my baby
Gearbox, tappets (hal-a-f**king-lujah), timing belt, pink slip, new clutch, etc. Plus the front seats have gone to the upholsterer to be re-covered
It's a very expensive week for me

Want to know the funny part ......
Had someone ring today wanting to buy the Sirion for
almost the advertised price, which is $1000 more than the Mirage
So typical. I now have to decide if I want to back out of the deal on the Mirage - and how bad I'll feel about it if I do. There's been no handshake, just an email agreement to meet up and see if I like the Mirage enough to do the actual swap.

Easily solved,
Sell sirion for higher price
Buy mirage for lower price
Profit
