Helpabruthaout - World Powerlifting Championships

Post by HeRo »

Hey guys,

Many of you know that I'm not a mechanical wiz that sometimes I wish I am What many of you DON'T know however is that i'm an athlete for Powerlifting Australia.

Powerlifting is not bodybuilding; it is all about being strong and lifting heavy sh!t...I've been competing for some time now and I've been selected twice now to join the national team to represent Australia. I previously competed for our country at the Asian Classic Championships in Coimbatore,India and this time for the World Classic Championships in Suzdal,Russia on the 10th-16th June 2013.

Unfortunately powerlifting as a sport in Australia, unlike other countries, has little support from the government and much of this trip will be funded by myself. Not all things in life are easy and cheap, and I really didn't want to ask, but if FTOAustralia would like to sponsor me or members would like to make a once off donation, it would mean a great deal to me. :D

Commonwealth Bank
BSB: 063 245
ACC: 1021 7681

I am currently ranked in the top 10 in the Men's 74kg Open Division and #1 in the Men's 74kg Junior Division (18-24). This will be my last year as a junior so it would be great to give it my all before I go into Open's and smash some records.

Cheers,
Colin

My current PB's are

Squat: 180kg
Bench Press: 117.5kg  (my weakest lift)
Deadlift: 222.5kg

Below is a pic of some of my team in India - i'm the guy on the very right.

Never tried to tell you the truth. But they stand pretty high which makes it easier. it'll be similar to the large billiards table i lifted on one end; they're decently heavy

I'll keep everybody posted on training and comp results if people are interested.

thanks man
