Hey was just wondering where I can get my manual gearbox reconditioned I know bennoz does them but I'm in qld unless I can send it down to him

its not that expensive to ship a gearbox man, problem is that bennoz is a busy married man! lol

Have you tried giving a gearbox/diff shops around brisbane a call & asking for a quote?

yeah was probably going to do that this week just wanted to see if there was one that someone had used before, that way I can trust they can do an FTO box

yeah I got a link to them from bennoz awhile ago but haven't had the courage to do it myself so haven't ordered them

If you acquire the parts then drop it off at transmission place itd b heaps cheaper

That's right, plus the kit has dropped to a hundred bucks now, cheap as chips.

If doing an actual recondition of the gearbox wouldn't new synchros be used, otherwise what's the point?

Because the bearings wear out well before the syncros. You only replace syncros if you need to - the full kit with syncros is f*cking expensive too, about $500. Brass aint cheap.

I was thinking of buying the bearing kit but that means id have to take my gearbox out again, it was hard enough last time.

Coz i wasn't helping you.. and just had a look.. the whole kit with syncro's is only $389 bennoz

Another thing i did for you for nothing and not even a thankyou at the end :roll:

Just ring around and get a few quotes or send it down to bennoz when he has the time
