Oil leaks

hey guys, past few weeks ive noticed lots oil leaking.
its allways had abit under and around the engine bay, but never drips till 2weeks ago.
i did the filter and oil change a few days ago and it has actually increased the amount of oil leaking.
the question is where from? it seems to be every where, under the sump and filter area,
but also theres a lot ontop and under the transmission area. (really doesnt seem like like tranny oil, as mine is very red and clean still.
have taken a few photos, and one of exactly where it dripped after parking the car for 2hours(both sides)
on ocassion the car gets driven pretty hard, (not limiter bashing) but sometimes on a 4am knockoff on an empty freeway ill cruise home at 150ish.
ive allways run 10w40 synthetic.
unanswered questions:
what area/areas is the oil coming from.?
what caused it.?
how urgent should i fix it and whats the cost involved. ?

You need to degrease the engine bay and check it after the next time you drive it. It will always cone from the highest spot its showing. At a guess Im gonna say rocker cover gasket. Not an uncommon problem. Not an expensive one either you can do it yourself.

Might have something to do with there being more oil there for it to leak when you filled it from the oil change

And agreed with Taz, degrease and then check the rocker cover gasket, simple fix

Probably a mix of new oil/more oil/leaking gasket getting worse.

Are you sure thats oil. Its got a green tinge. Looks like it could be water with coolant in it possibly leaking from top radiator hose/thermo housing. If there was caked on oil/grease on tranny already, you might be mistaking it for oil. Check your water levels to be sure. Take the radiator cap off when the car is cold and then turn engine on and make sure no bubbles coming up.

Your front gasket is under the rocker cover on the front obviously. The rear gasket is under the rocker cover on the rear which is inconveniently placed underneath the intake manifold. Not a big jobs just requires taking it all apart, replacing gasket, checking and replacing everything.

Queue Phil with a diagram as I can't be bothered

I reckon you're not hulk enough and didn't screw your oil filter on tight enough lol coupled with a leaky gasket

haha its not ment to go on "hulky" tight.
plus i have one of these http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewi ... 2519879285

think its just the gasket but its dripping more because i cleaned it all up and new oil.

Start sourcing your new gaskets and you might as well do your plug seal gaskets as well. This might help ;)
