Indicator stalk + lights.

Post by Jonnobrand »

Hey guys need some help on this one..

I have had a "dicky" indicator stalk for quite some time and i flicked to turn left a little to hard.. Thus somehow lodging the left indicator into a position of where it wont stop..

Me and my father tried to address the situation and ended up making the parking lights stuck on too..

So I am wondering if there are any assembly kits for the right indicator or the whole thing? how does it go? The stalk is completely broken out of the place it sits in - and it never had the
guard to stop it from coming out of the position its meant to sit in.

- I live in Canberra , It is a FTO GPX.

Thanks.

You will need to get a new one there is no repair.
have just had to do this one myself.

If you can find a second hand one make sure you take the old one with you to match it up.
There are at least Four different types.

1. AirBag or no AirBag
2. There is a one piece complete assembly which you have to remove the steering wheel to replace. If I recall the whole assembly is black. (hope you don't have that)
3. The other has a black centre around the steering column and the Wiper and Indicator assembly is white
(there are 3 different types of the white one that I have found).

I do Know that ALLJAP in Brisbane have a few. A bit far I know

Good Luck

And there is a difference between the oneswith a rear wiper and without a rear wiper as well. I only have one at the moment and its an airbag one with rear wiper controls.

I Know they have a couple of half cuts there, they have at least a dozen boot lids with wing attached
I also Know that they DON'T have. Fog light switches, PowerSteer / AC tensioner bolts or pulleys, Consoles.

You can actually fix it, you just need to pull the stalk out and use a soldering iron to weld the plastic bits that are broken back on. its not as good as new but it will work until you find a new one.
