Outer CV Joint.

Post by Shhtuart »

I've messaged the eBay seller of the CV joint.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-F ... 0b7&_uhb=1

I asked if he sold the ABS version.

His response was;

"Hi there,You can remove your ABS ring and put on the non ABS joint.
Cheers Duza"

Is this correct?

Just get one of these

Alternatively you can give this one a go - all you would theoretically have to do is put your old ABS ring on the new joint if its the right one.
However the camskill one is almost the same price and comes with a new ABS ring.

That one works out to be $53AUD BEFORE shipping. They are a bit heavy too so it won't be cheap.

Well its either take the gamble, or pay an extra 20-30 dollars
Keep in mind Camskill also comes with a new ABS ring as well.

Just make sure it has the correct fitting for an ABS ring if you take the gamble.

Yeah, I've swapped a few ABS rings. And in reverse, bought one from Sydney Driveshaft & had to knock the ring off (no pun.)

just have to be very careful when swapping the ABS rings as they're quite fragile. Make sure you tap it off and on evenly otherwise it will snap. Learnt that the hard way :(
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver
