Seat Belt

Post by Lawso »

I'm still confused

I got out of the car tonight, ran to the shops, came back, and my seat belt had locked itself. i don't mean like, you have 2 inches or so before it locks up, i mean its seized, no slack, no nothing.

a) has this happened to anyone else (knowing my luck nope)
b) what do oh mighty FTO forum

You can try to unbolt the hanger (the part of the seat belt bolted to the pillar at shoulder height), this will allow you to let some more belt to retract and in doing so allowing the safety lock to release, then pull some moar belt out, then bolt the hanger back up.
or
Try the same but unbolt the seat belt end from the floor.

.....and lol

The same thing happened to me, once. I think I unbolted it from the floor to fix it.
