Carbon Fibre stereo surround - how to attach gear boot??

Post by peterm3150 »

Hi all,

I bought a carbon fibre stereo surround a while ago. It didn't have any clips or anything on the bottom for the gear boot to slide into, so I just gaffa-taped the gear boot to the bottom of it.
Now being summer its falling off when it gets hot.

Any other ideas? Are all CF stereo surrounds like this? Is there anywhere I can buy one that has the clips/surround on the bottom for the gear boot to tuck into?

Thanks.
Pete

Yep,

No clips whatsoever on them. Thats the problem really. There is no way to secure them nicely. The genuine ones are about the same price, have all the clips, but arent as durable (although the new ones arent as brittle). Fibreglass may work for you. If you buildup 3 or 4 spots, you could probably screw a metal frame down or something like that.
