whats the weight of a 6a12 engine?

Post by Storm »

I'm just looking at getting an engine stand and there's a couple of choices but they're mainly based on weight so does anyone know the weight of the engine please?

If not then just chuck in the extra $40 and get the 560kg rated one.

The 6A12 engine should weigh about 180-200kg

its ALMOST half of 200 (he could also be referring to being half of the 450kg rated engine stand), and i was asking if the 150kg quoted was a good number so i wont get any hidden costs i.e. no way its over 150...

Well Bennoz, half of what?

This is not confirmed, but supposedly the 1.6 MIVEC is 140kg and the 6A12 is 22kg more.
Of course, this is just word of mouth stuff and to be honest I think the 6A12 should weigh more than just 22kg additional to the 1.6.

I know a 2JZ is 270kg 8O

Bennoz I think there must be some kind of mistake.
Even the new all alloy Mitsubishi 4 cylinder weighs some 160kg from memory without ancillaries
