Can't get my front bumper off...

Post by den0va »

Hey all,

So yeah as the title says, I can't get my front bumper off. I've removed the four bolts underneath, and removed a bolt on each side just under the plastic gaurds... and it doesn't simply just slide off, there's a c*nt of a bolt just underneath the headlight thats holding it in and I can't reach it. :-x anyone else had this problem?

Have you taken the 4 or 5 screws out from under the bonnet at the front?

ok for a start you dont take the bolt off thats just under the headlight while its on the car, it holds the bar to the rheo. There should be 5 along the top of the bumper in the engine bay, and 2 more plain as day to see holding it to the support bar or whatever. if youve undone the 4 under car chassis bolts and the ones to the fender like you said it should slide out from the chassis frontwards, then its simple to take the bar off the rheo and swap it.

Looks like ill need to make a DIY on this one 8O

make sure you put the chassis bolts in first, but more importantly dont tighten one side up first, get them all in just below finger tight, align the bar then slowly tighten them in a rotation, then just slowly nip up the rest and you should be fine

The bracket that runs underneath the top sides of the bumper connects onto the side guards as well, they are either bolted to the guard or there is a clip.
