Not turning over
Tried to start the car the other day to take it in to get the rego renewed and it won't start. I'll admit i havent really used it in quiet some time but i did only just replace the starter motor two months ago so its not that. It's also not the battery as its new and the dash lights up, the stepper was only replaced a few years ago so its not that. I can hear a noise like the engine is trying to turn but just cant. Any ideas? I did take the car for a drive after replacing the starter and it was fine but is it possible something has somehow happened to it?
I still need to check the fuses but apart from that is there anything else i can check?

Re: Not turning over
Its either the battery or poor/corroded connections on the terminals.

Also check the earth connections as well, if it's loose then the car will not start.

Re: Not turning over
I still reckon its your battery. Doesn't matter how new it is, if you haven't used it in a while, as the saying goes 'use it or lose it'
There's a constant drain on it, clock, alarm etc. Just because the dash lights up, doesn't mean it has the juice to turn over.

100% agree ^^^^^ . I had not started my car for about a month and my 1000CA battery was only putting out 9-10V.
Fine for lights and other things but could not kick the engine over.

Jump start? No start from that you can rule out the electrical side of things.

Re: Not turning over
I had a similar problem in one of my previous cars...
Try cleaning your terminals with a wire brush, or even call the RAA (if you have membership) and they can usually replace the terminals for you with brand new ones, usually cost $5 each or something. They could even use one of their magical flying voltage checking machine things to trace the problem to the source?
From my limited mechanical knowledge, that's all I can offer
