LCD monitor problem
goggle was useless, am hoping humans are more useful
got an LCD monitor, where the backlight is busted. it will turn on for about 3 or 4 seconds then turn off.

80% of those faults is the internal DC power supply, the rest..... internal fluro lamps.
Based on turning on then off again I'm picking the PSU is where it's at.

No worries, they are easy to repair, I forgot to mention it could also be a dry joint, was very common on acer and Phillips monitors a few years back too.lawso wrote:cheer mikeeyappreciated. i just bought the monitor as well

If all else fails just take a few pics of the PCB board and post them up, I'll see if I can see anything obvious, short of that put whole PCB in the post.
Oh there is a real red neck way to repair them useing a PC PSU too, if you know what your doing that is.
